Jim's been pushing artistic boundaries since age four, when his
pursuits forced his mother to line the walls with drawing paper.
This exuberance infuses his work with humor and passion, as he
explores paradoxes of the human condition.
He received his BFA from Kent State University and his MFA from
Northern Illinois University. Jim maintains a studio in Tucson,
teaching clay, and exhibiting throughout the United States. He has
enjoyed residencies at Banff, Canada, St. John's Pottery, and Arrowmont
School of Arts and Crafts.
Jim currently resides in Tucson, AZ, with his partner, Darcy, and
turbo-canine, Jack.
